Three Rooboys Teams to Plays Semis

Three Coorparoo teams will play semi-finals after the finish of the Sub-District Cricket regular season.


The A1s finished third, the B2s finished third, and the C3s finished second.


The A1s defeated Indooroopilly Districts at Moore Park (George Watt Oval). Batting first, Coorparoo made 152, with half-centuries to Hayden Lanza (60 not out) and Ben Mably (50). Lanza took 5/13 as Indooroopilly were dismissed for 38. Following on 114 runs behind, Indooroopilly reached 2/115.


The B2s defeated Taringa Rovers by eight wickets at Indooroopilly State High School. After dismissing Taringa for 92 (Nitin Kashyap 4/16, Myles Topp 3/24), Coorparoo (2/96) reached the target in 21.5 overs, with 48 to Mathew Grace and 34 not out to David Hedditch.


The C1s defeated Rochedale South Vipers on first innings at Peter Gallagher Oval. Bowling first, Coorparoo dismissed Rochedale for 70, with six wickets between Manish Pal (3/14) and Ken Parry (3/18). Joe Jonathan scored 55 as Coorparoo reached 133, a lead of 63 runs. Rochedale were dismissed for 168 in their second innings (Pal 2/20, Parry 2/33). Needing 106 runs to win outright, Coorparoo reached 0/53 (Jonathan 27 not out).


The C3s lost by two wickets to Redland Sharks at Charlie Buckler Memorial Sportsground. Batting first, Coorparoo was dismissed for 77. Andrew Swindells (2/3), George Maltby (2/11), and Sean Andrews (2/19) took six wickets between them as the Sharks (8/78) won in 30 overs.


The Sub-District semi-finals will be played next Saturday and Sunday (14th and 15th of March).
