Two wins for Rooboys in Round 2

Coorparoo won two games in Sub-District Cricket Round 2: the B3s and C3s won their one dayers while the A1s lost their two-dayer.

The B3 beat the Brisbane Saints by two wickets at Bellbowrie Sports (oval 2). Amandeep Thatai took 6/14 as the Saints made 8/188 off 35 overs. Michael McInerney scored a half-century (56) and was supported by Thatai (44) and Nitin Kashyap (23 not out), as Coorparoo (8/189 off 33.3 overs) won with nine balls to spare.

The C3s beat Springwood Suns by 29 runs at Homestead Park. Batting first, Coorparoo made 9/178 off 34 overs. Joe Johnathan scored a half-century (57), with support from Abhishek Sundar Babu (41) and Pragasam Sorubaraj (24). Marc Fidler (2/15) and Michael Westerman (2/32) took the majority of the wickets as Springwood made 7/149 off 34 overs.

The A1 had a heavy loss against Brookfield United CCC at CJ Greenfield. Trailing by 116 runs on first innings, Coorparoo was dismissed for 94 in their second innings (Jeffrey Lituri 47), losing by an innings and 22 runs. One day one, Coorparoo made 82 (captain Chris Dishot 56) while Brookfield was dismissed early on day two for 198 (Todd Duncan 3/32, Nic Machado 3/40, Myles Topp 2/34).

Sub-District Cricket Round 3 begins next Saturday.
