Coorparoo had a solid start to Sub-District Cricket Round 7.
The A1s will need quick wickets against Gold Crest at Finsbury Park (oval 1). After Coorparoo made 9/114 declared (James Howlett 44, Ethan Bowditch-Wharton 29 not out), Gold Crest reached 2/111 at stumps, just three runs behind. The B1s are in a strong position against Ashgrove at Brisbane State High Sports Complex. Yeswanth Kalva made 90 not out as Coorparoo declared at 8/234. He was supported by captain Nic Machado (29), McKenzie Neal (28), and Simon Fynes-Clinton (26). Ashgrove reached 1/27 at stumps, 207 runs behind. B3 bowlers Charlie Wilkinson and Matt Simmons took 10 wickets between them against the Brisbane Saints at Wynnum Memorial Park. Wilkinson took 6 for 88 off 22.3 overs, and Simmons 4 for 66 off 19, as the Saints made 251. Gauthum Nair scored a half-century (64) as Coorparoo reached 3/100 at stumps, trailing by 151 runs. The C4s are in a tight battle against the Brisbane Saints at CJ Greenfield Oval. Batting first, Coorparoo made 133, with a half-century for Michael McInerney (59) and 22 for Connor Freiberg. Captain Marc Fidler took four wickets, and Ross Freiberg two, as the Saints reached 8/89 by stumps, trailing by 44 runs. Sub-District Cricket Round 7 concludes next Saturday.
