Two Rooboys Win in Round 7

Coorparoo finished Sub-District Cricket Round 7 with two wins. The A1s won by five wickets and the C3s won on first innings.
While the A1s trailed by 35 runs on first innings against Springwood at Brisbane State High Sports Complex (oval 2), they then dismissed Springwood for 36 in 27.1 overs, with five wickets to Liam Lanza (5/6). Nic Machado scored 24 not out as Coorparoo (5/72) reached the target in 15.3 overs. Springwood made 116 in their first innings (Xavier McCluskey 3/31, Oliver Civil 2/10, Hayden Lanza 2/11, Ben Mably 2/21), while Coorparoo made 81 (Hayden Lanza 28).
The C3s defeated WPC at Bellbowrie Sports (oval 2 - turf). Batting first, Coorparoo declared at 9/179 (Michael McInerney 71, Ross Freiberg 27). Marc Fidler took 7/21 as WPC were dismissed for 72. Leading by 107, Coorparoo enforced the follow-on, with WPC making 6/100 (Fidler 2/6, Ross Freiberg 2/7) to avoid outright defeat.
The C1s lost to QLD Lions Blue at CJ Greenfield. Batting first, the Lions made 205 (Manish Pal (5/32). Coorparoo replied with 121 (Pal 35, David Miller 24). The Lions declared their second innings at 4/82 (Sean Andrews 2/15), leading by 166. Coorparoo reached 6/71 by stumps (Liam Bulloch 39).
Day two of the B2s game against the Brisbane Saints at Judy Holt Park 2 (turf) was washed out. Liam Fogarty took 5/24 and a hat-trick as the Saints made 8/190.
Sub-District Cricket Round 8 begins next Saturday.
